ABOUT THE
OPIOID TASK FORCE
The Kankakee County Opioid Task force was founded in 2012 by Coroner Bob Gessner, the Kankakee County States Attorney, the Kankakee County Sheriff, Riverside Healthcare and the Kankakee County Health Department as a response to the significant rise in opioid overdose deaths. This task force has evolved into a multi-county collaborative to address the opioid epidemic in Kankakee, Grundy, Iroquois, and Kendall Counties. The members of the task force are committed to reducing harm and death associated with substance use, promoting resources within our communities, and finding funding to bring additional resources into our communities to aide those struggling with substance use and their families.
